A Few Words From Lauren
Many people begin their journeys with therapy feeling some form of isolation- some voice inside of them that says, "Am I the only one going through this?" A parent may bring in their teen who they feel is a stranger, or a child whose behavior makes them feel like they know nothing as a parent. Teens may feel as though the world is against them as they struggle with identity, peers, and parents. Kids may not have the vocabulary to describe what they're feeling to an adult in words, so they turn to dysfunctional ways of coping. The first step to healing is fighting against this isolation through connection.
I believe that- at its core- therapy is about connecting. Connecting between client and therapist. Connecting with oneself. Connecting with sources of healing and potential. Connecting with someone who understands that what you're going through is painful. In the truest sense, therapy is one of the only relationships in life where connecting happens between a person and your real, authentic, battle-scarred, corageous, raw, beautiful, wounded, and worthy self.
Connecting to kids, teens, and their stories through play, art, and talking is an honor. It is my goal that every client, no matter the age, walks away feeling seen and heard, even if they have no words to say.
"I am not what happened to me. I am what I choose to become." -Carl Jung
"When little people are overwhelmed by big emotions, it's our job to share our calm, not join their chaos." -L.R. Knost
"The irony is that we attempt to disown our difficult stories to appear more whole or more acceptable, but our wholeness- even our wholeheartedness- actually depends on the integration of all our experiences, including the falls." -Brené Brown
FAQ’s
HOW MUCH DOES A SESSION COST?
My fee for an intake session and a 50 minute session is $185.
Rise Therapy Center is an out-of-network provider with many insurance companies, which means that we do not bill insurance companies directly. Your counseling services may be eligible for reimbursement through out-of-network benefits, medical spending (FSAs), or health savings accounts (HSAs). Health insurance plans and benefits vary. If you are interested in using your health insurance, please call your insurance provider to inquire about reimbursement for out-of-network counseling services.
Our Office Manger will provide you with a document on request called a "superbill," which is like an invoice but contains the service codes, dates of treatment, and monies paid during therapy. You would submit this to your plan directly, and your plan would reimburse you directly.
HOW ARE MY RECORDS STORED?
We utilize a HIPAA-compliant, encrypted, electronic medical record called TherapyAppointment that holds all of my clients' mental health records safely in it. You will get a link to a client portal where you fill in demographic information and can access your paperwork and scheduling. You can aslo find the portal login on our website.
DO YOU HAVE A CANCELATION POLICY?
I have a 24-business-hour cancelation policy. You will be responsible for an entire session fee if the change is made in less than 24-business-hours' notice. Exceptions may be made for emergencies—such as sudden illness or accident—at my discretion. It should be noted that insurance does not reimburse for canceled sessions, and HSA and FSA cards can't be used in these cases.
