Spring into a Better Season by Kaylee Finlay

As the world awakens from its winter slumber, we can use this seasonal change to shake off our winter blues and cultivate a season that is filled with growth, sunlight, and connection. This seasonal transition in the world reminds us that it’s time to change how we move through our life, whether that is practical changes like putting away our winter boots, or mental changes like connecting back to what makes us happy; I encourage you all to reflect on what needs to be decluttered in your life and what you need to add into it to blossom.

Feeling unsure where to begin? You don’t have to uproot your entire lifestyle or discard everything; instead here are 2 manageable areas of your life you can adjust this spring!

  1. Build connections to nature into your daily routine: While it’s not alway feasible to spend hours outdoors each day, there are numerous small adjustments we can make to integrate nature into our busy lives. Consider simple changes such as enjoying your morning coffee outside, placing a bird feeder near your office window, walking barefoot to retrieve your mail to connect with the Earth beneath you, or even opening windows in your home to let fresh air circulate.

  1. Declutter your space: You might be thinking “this isn’t a manageable task!” However we can help make it a less daunting task by breaking it down into smaller, more manageable chunks, and removing the pressure from yourself. Remember, you don’t have to tackle every corner of your house at once. Instead, take some time to reflect on which area of your home feels the most cluttered and overwhelming. Is it your kitchen or bedroom, perhaps? Once you’ve identified the problem area, focus on one small section at a time. For example, dedicate an hour one weekend afternoon to cleaning a couple of drawers, and then another day, tackle a different cabinet. By taking it step by step, you make the task more manageable and avoid feeling overwhelmed. Don’t let the pressure to do it all
at once stop you from even trying!

As we go into this new season, try to shed the winter blues and commit to making these little changes in your life to help blossom this spring!
